The Essence of Self in Nine Ancient Archetypes

  • Patti Hammer's house address will be sent to participants Burton, Vashon Island (map)

This Spring Hestia retreat will be a quiet day of self-reflection and self-awareness. To facilitate this deeper understanding of ourselves, we will explore the enneagram system of personality and spirituality with presenter Donna Frindt.

The enneagram is not just another “personality test.” This system has been around since at least the 4th century and serves as a roadmap to greater understanding of ourselves and others. The enneagram shows us that there are nine fundamental strategies human beings use to navigate the experience of being human. Each strategy has a specific focus of attention and is fueled by habits of thought and habits of attention.

By discovering your essential archetype, or personal life strategy, you will gain a deeper understanding of how you think, and how you approach and navigate the world. Using the enneagram, you can see yourself, which allows you to free yourself. This is the essence of self love.

Here are some of the many benefits of learning your type:

·         A customized roadmap for your specific development

·         Greater understanding of your own motivations and the drivers in your personality

·         Learning how your focus of attention operates

·         Developing new ways to manage yourself and your relationships

·         Greater compassion for yourself and others

·         Building the ability to self-diagnose and self-intervene when reacting under stress

Rather than trying to “fix you,” the enneagram helps you develop a neutral inner witness who recognizes your gifts and challenges, allowing you to make different choices when needed, from a position of profound self love.
